I've kinda been doing something similar swooshies for construction, a ball Split horizontally in 2 for the space of the hips + waist and a rather ovaled, pointy circle for the ribcage, though I try to fit in different body types with negative spacing

I’m not sure what is meant by Rodgon being a “tracer”. I like the process of starting with guidelines of a box, circles, and an hourglass. I’ve learned more from you Rodgon in such a short time, it’s not even funny. If using a box, circles and an houglass is tracing, what a great contribution to those of us who appreciate this approach. The difference it has made in my sketching is dramatic. The friends and family that critique my work are giving me feedback that they have noticed a HUGE improvement lately. This approach is better the Loomis or Reilly methods. It simplifies the process and that’s the point. The real creativity comes when you put the meat on the bones of the foundation. Keep it going Rodgon, you’re on to something.

I think this method work well for drawing characters from the back. But the other method is good for front and side view

Man, I can't wrap my head around the idea of the bellybutton being so low on the body. Putting the oval on top of the top of the circle is even more confusing, becaus enot it looks grotesquely... tall.

As a art professor, we tell our 20 year old kindergarten students That it's called the arrow method.

The veristality of the peepee not only you can hang your hat or a kickstand to prevent you to roll down a hill but you can use it to construct a body in drawing!

Collarbone sometimes it's a nightmare! 100%true!! And if you have to draw the raised arms it's worse! Do you use the bean shape for the torso??
